Welcome to Winery Explorations

Wine isn’t just a drink, it’s an experience. There is the color in the glass, the aroma in your nose, the taste as it hits your mouth, the finish as it goes past your tongue and the joy as it settles in. But to really get the most from the experience you need to visit the place where the wine was made. Whether it is a castle surrounded by vines, or a warehouse filled with barrels, the winery is where the magic happens. It is the experience of walking through the vines, smelling oak barrels filled with wine, or enjoying a tasting room with happy and often knowledgeable people. Wineries make more than just the drink of wine; they make the experience of wine.

This site is dedicated to the experience of wine, or more specifically wineries. Big ones with rolling hills covered in vines, and the little ones tucked away in an industrial park or shopping area. It won’t be about rating the wines as much as the experience. Is it fun, educational, scenic, or historic? Do the people add to, or even make the experience? Is it more like Disneyland, or your neighbor’s garage? No one experience is best. That is what makes the adventure.

Hopefully this site will help you start your own winery explorations.
