Wine vs Covid

A study published in the UK has found that people who drank one to two glasses of red wine per day were 10% to 17% less likely to get Covid-19. Conversely, beer drinkers were 28% more likely to get Covid. There could be several explanations for this. Beer drinkers may be more likely to congregate in crowded bars where transmission is more likely. Wine drinkers tend to be older and more affluent, so lifestyle could be a factor. But this study is yet another that shows that some of the compounds found in red wine are good for your health. Red wine is high in polyphenols and resveratrol, which are knows to reduce blood pressure, are good antioxidants, and improve cell health.

So enjoy your time in that tasting room. You are inoculating yourself against Covid-19.
